This small room in a barrack was our home for over three years during World War II. It had an electric light bulb, but nothing else. There were 14 barracks to a block, with a mess hall, laundry room, and separate women's and men's latrines with group toilets and group showers. Upon arriving at the camp, my older siblings realized the enormity of our forced removal by our government's unconstitutional act.
