42. The Heavens Are Crying |
|
Dad said, "The heavens are crying with us", because it was raining hard when we heard that my Uncle Johnny was killed in action in Italy in 1944 (he was in the 442nd Combat Team, Company G). My brother-in-law, Hisashi Nakao, along with the survivors of the 442nd, was honored by President Truman at the end of the war. An aide was going to cancel the ceremony because of rain, but President Truman said, "Rain is not a problem, after all that they have been through." order a print of this painting                  return to home page |
